AS ONE TO MY MOTHER TO YOU I OWE

Naught a cause to live this dull life I see
And endure tortuous tyranny of time
To further be the victim of his spree.
By tantalizing futile joyous clime.
Naught a cause to try I see but in vain
My mind is but a war-worn battlefield
Transfixed to descry in me my heart slain.
For 'gainst the spears of loath be no shield.
But from the day my eyes have you descried
As the Phoenix, my soul in me birthed
To live life anew like it never died;
Now the heart in healed health beats in your mirth.
The purpose of my life you did endow,
As one to my mother to you I owe.
